Spray foam has limitless uses. In the marine industry it is fast becoming recognised for its versatile properties and ease of application. Countless boat owners have now switched to rigid foam because of its unbeatable solution to condensation and insulation.
We work on all types of vessels including yachts, ferries, barges, canal boats and refrigerated rooms on fishing boats. Spray foam moulds to the contour of your boat making it the ideal solution for many problems.
Of course buoyancy is also a key issue. Just 2lb of foam per ft3 will support 60lb of weight in the water. This is due to the closed cell structure of the foam.
Cold storage vessels and trawlers that have spray foam applied benefit greatly. The insulation qualities of rigid foam are excellent, a highly important factor if fish have been caught and temperatures have to be maintained to ensure quality.
Rigid foam also takes up very little space, an important issue if we consider that reducing the thickness of insulation on a large vessel by just 1 inch can make available extra cargo space of up to 100 tonnes!
As a result, the larger the catch transported, the more economical each trip is made. We are able to insulate trawler fishrooms to the thickness required to achieve refrigeration temperatures required to keep catches fresh until landed.
The application of spray foam even improves structural strength , and adds anticorrosive values to the metal surface it is applied to.
